About the Sources of Organs Used in
China's Huge Organ Transplant Industry

  • China's health officials have admitted that almost all organs transplanted in China before 2010 were from executed prisoners. But in China, there is no distinction between criminal prisoners and innocent prisoners, such as prisoners of conscience, religious prisoners or political prisoners.
  • Investigators estimate that to keep up with the huge number of organ transplants happening at Chinese hospitals, up to 100,000 "prisoners" are killed annually for their organs. The majority are prisoners of conscience, including Tibetans, House Christians, Uyghurs, with the largest majority coming from Chinese people who practice the spiritual discipline, Falun Gong.

The Use of Organs from Prisoners of Conscience
has Fueled a Giant Industry

  • Organ transplants and transplant centers in China grew phenomenally after 1999, when the Chinese Communist Party began imprisoning millions of Falun Gong practitioners across the country because of their traditional beliefs.
  • Independent investigators found the majority of organs used for transplants were not taken from criminal prisoners, but from prisoners of conscience.
