The Daily Mail Leads to Viral Coverage of Hard To Believe

Hard To Believe had its U.S. digital release launched between Sept. 29 and Oct. 5, 2015. During the time U.S. audience was able to purchase online access to watching the film on Vimeo for a week. After the Daily Beast and then the Daily Mail ran the story a flood of others picked up on it, making "organ harvesting" go viral online over a number of days.

Daily Mail interviewed the director of Hard To Believe, Ken Stone, and one of the participants in the film, Ethan Gutmann, an investigative journalist and China analyst. Ken said, "What drew me to the story was that the evidence was so strong and yet it's hardly talked about." "There's a general tendency to not want to look atrocities in the face," Gutmann told MailOnline. "We acknowledge a terrible atrocity only after it's over. Look at how long it took before the Holocaust was recognized."
